“I joined Just Ideas having worked for over ten years in the voluntary sector focusing particularly on volunteering in the UK and internationally, development education, communications and marketing. My passion is effective communication – communicating complex ideas and information in a clear and simple way. This goes back to the value we place in participation at Just Ideas.

Until 2007 I was Deputy Director of Reading Voluntary Action – a role that touched the many influences, tensions and opportunities currently present in the voluntary sector. I managed a Volunteer Centre that achieved outstanding results in national accreditation and increased volunteering in the Reading area. I have varied experience prior to this work of managing, developing and running training particular in relation to volunteering and development education including working with VSO. I also have particular expertise in research, consultation and event management.

My interest and expertise in the area of corporate responsibility is maintained as a Director of Connect Reading, Reading’s business community partnership. My energy extends into the world of running and triathlon where similar principles of effective organisation, volunteering and challenging targets are also to be found!”
